Make a multitasking lanolin balm

For 12 days we have been publishing one formula a day that you can copy or personalise this holiday season.

DAY 12

This final formula for the series is a multitasking balm with lanolin.

All the formulas in the past 12 days were designed for formulators who aren’t yet at advanced level or those who prefer to make a formula without really delving into the details. What you choose to work with, that is a personal choice, I am here to provide you inspiration, advice and ideas and I hope I’ve achieved that.

This multitasking balm has butters, oils and lanolin. It is designed to sooth irritated skin, to soften dry skin. Lanolin is a wonderful addition but it can be omitted if you prefer a vegan formula. Why is it multitasking? It is superb on face, on hands, on elbows, knees and heels. Keep a tiny jar in your handbag so you have it when needed.

PERSONALISATION

  • Feel free to choose your own oils.

  • You can replace behenyl alcohol with cetyl alcohol. It is a possible that you get a different viscosity when you change butters or behenyl, .

  • You can leave out bisabolol and use CO2 extracts. Think about what you want the balm to do, bisabolol fit my theme.

  • Use your own essential oil blend.

HOW TO USE

Use it on dry elbows, heels. Use as a softening balm on dry, chapped hands. Apply a small amount onto the cuticles and nails.
